AbstractIn 1970, Tadeusz Kantor creates “actions” at Foksal Gallery in Warsaw. He produced 40 canvas on which white painted umbrellas are glued. An student in architecture Zuzanna i Spółka group, under Pr.Witold Krassowski, purchased one of the paintings. According to the will of Kantor, the picture has been used as basis to prolong the action for a year. Two members of the group, Krzysztof Kubicki, Marek Mlodecki, adhering to the film club Stodola, decided to make a film with this picture. May 1, 1970. They hang the picture at the end of a pole to form a banner, then they enter the official motorcade parade on May 1 in Warsaw with it to the forum official. They were unoticed. Nobody “saw” this banner scroll, which was obvious. |
