Tsunami

This lecture performance features photographs and videos from the 2004 December tsunami.

Amateur photographs show people standing still while a wave is overwhelming them. Everything happens as if there was a physiological inability to assess the distance to the wave.

Most of the photographs and videos are fake and were taken at River Qiantan, Tidal Bore, China.

It is a parody of a skeptical position haunting the history of art since the beginnings of Modern Art in visual arts. It also contributes in identifying the political inscriptions of this skepticism.
